A graduate of Mercer University, Julianne Ensley has maintained a private teaching studio for ten years. Her own instructors have included Catherine Bull of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra and Christina Smith of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; she has also studied in workshop sessions with such artists as Tadeau Coelho and John Barcelona. In the spring of 2007, Music Teachers’ National Association awarded her a Teacher Enrichment Grant to continue advanced studies with Christina Smith. Mrs. Ensley performs regularly as a freelance artist and also arranges compositions for the Ensley Ensemble, her family’s musical group. She served on the board of directors for the Griffin Area Community Concerts as Student Outreach Coordinator. Mrs. Ensley is also a member of the Atlanta Flute Club and South Metro Atlanta Music Teachers’ Association. Her students have excelled in All-State bands and District Honor Bands; most holding first or second chair in their school bands.
