Sharon Priest

Mrs. Priest brings to Griffin School for the Arts 37 years of violin playing and 25 years of teaching experience. Formal school includes a Bachelor of Music degree from Wheaton Conservatory of Music (1985), a Master of Music degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (1986) and another graduate degree from Temple University (1990). She is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, Griffin Chapter.

Mrs. Priest was on the music faculty of Liberty University in the 1980’s, and was an adjunct strings teacher at Bob Jones University in 1999. She has taught at Calvary Baptist School (PA), Kettle Moraine Baptist Academy and Mukwanango Baptist School (WI), and Bible Baptist Christian School (GA). During high school Mrs. Priest was concertmaster of the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra (VA). She has participated in the Csehy Summer School of Music (PA) both as a music student and teacher, and also in the Roanoke Youth Orchestra Camp (VA). While in college, she attended the Aspen Festival of Music in Colorado for one year, and toured as a concerto soloist with the Wheaton Conservatory of Music Orchestra on a northeast spring tour.

Mrs. Priest and her husband have four daughters who play various instruments: flute, guitar, piano, French horn and violin. They live in Hampton and are active members of Bible Baptist Church.
